In response to China’s top five bus factory and Europe electrical, electronic hand tools factory orders; Lumimodule announced a joint venture with China’s state-owned enterprise (SOE) to set up new plants in China’s Zhejiang Province. The factory construction has three plants, two battery production lines and manufacturing products include 18650 batteries and polymer batteries for automotive, mobile phones and electric hand tools. The new facility has production 3 million cells per month, but also to contribute to the green economy; the new factory will be to run operation in 2018.
Lumimodule announced that they would work with China’s state-owned enterprise (SOE) to invest hundreds of millions of RMB in setting up new plants, and they will conduct to cash capital increase by the juristic person in September; the new facility is expected to be complete by the end of the year. Besides, to get China’s top five bus factory and the Europe electrical, electronic hand tools factory orders, Lumimodule also discuss cooperation with domestic and foreign big brand manufacturers.
The number of global electric vehicles has more than 2 million units last year; the increasing global battery demand, most of the manufacturers, currently is demanding and requires the high specification to run on production, especially in battery life and charging time. An electric car will need nearly 10,000 of the 18650 batteries; it spends half of total costs, also it attracts many battery manufacturers get into research and development.
Lumimodule wins the customer’s favor in the fierce market competition. The reason is that after a few years of investment in research and development, they made a breakthrough on lithium barium titanate (18650 battery capacity of up to 3400 to 3750 mAh, and 22650 capacity of up to 4200 to 4500 mAh).
The Barium titanate material made in lithium battery offering high performance, cycle life and high-safety (three times of capacity of lithium battery for the electric car), and density of energy over 350Whr/Kg.
Batteries of Lumimodule are currently able to fast charge and discharge 20C/40C moving next stage to 50C/100C; they also get the battery technology patent invention of global multinational.
However, Lumimodule production of polymer battery has entered the European electrical communications market, and soon, they will cooperate with the China mobile phone manufacturers in recently.
Polymer battery is used broadly today on 3C products (smart-phone, tablet PC), Lumimodule is moving towards research and development the patented formula of lithium battery over 700Whr to 800Whr; they will drive a new generation of energy technology business opportunities.
In the other hand, Apple Company and Germany Dyson spent USD 500 million to buy the patent of solid-state battery, Lumimodule developed solid-state cell which has already completed the formula certification of the license so that they will go to mass production in 2019.
